Rules BST links sales section - so many spammers

Whenever I'm looking to buy for a link or a banner space in BST sales link section, I'm getting lots of private message offering me their websites that has nothing to do with the niche I specify on the thread.

For example I'm looking for a sports website, 30 minutes later I'll get about 8 private messages offering me their pet websites, fashion websites and etc. I mean wtf? Those websites that they are offering me has nothing to do with the niche I'm looking for. Do they even bother reading the thread?

It also seemed like they have already a template that they will send to the thread starter whenever a new user is looking to buy for a links or banner space.

    That is really really annoying.

As for the rules, Can we consider this a spam and report it to the mod?

It's not really spam though if you are asking to buy links and people PM you about buying links.

Buying links in general is a spammy practice... Not really sure why people do it at all to be honest.

but when you ask for a specific niche you shouldn't have to read about sites not of your niche.
if i want to buy automotive links, i shouldn't have to read pm's offering links on a movie site or whatever.
its not the specific niche i asked for, should be spam.

Probably more along the lines of "Inappropriate Post"... if you are asking for people to PM you about buying links, and then people PM you about buying links I wouldn't really say it's spam... just inappropriate if they are PMing about the wrong *kind* of links.

I remember making a WTB thread there sometime back for buying signature links of DP members and next morning I got 50 PM's for links on same ...pet sites, house improvment, gambling etc...you are right they just copy paste the same thing to all buyers.

If I put my number to buy an oven in the electronics section of telemarketers register and get calls from refrigerator marketers, isn't it spam- even though both are electronics? I can report them to my service providers and get them blacklisted.
