Ah, didn't know this feature existed here. I was out of DP for a while. Glad to see the bump feature added!

...Yes, and as per your "Why not pay $20 per thread" --> That's what the Warrior Forum is for. DP is a completely different ballpark.

    I totally agree with akki313
That would be very good, today everyone is selling one thing or the other, whether it is its own product, PLR, found free or anything.

It MUST be paid soon, if DP want quality buyers and sellers.
    Thanks

I, personally, don't see anything wrong with how DP is right now. Making people pay to post threads will kill 80% or more of DP's members. I know I won't be paying for threads, I would probably pack my bags and say "See ya!" like a lot of other members.

I agree with your point. Definitely, a lot of people will leave (80% is way off, though), especially the ones currently offering services which do not offer too much of a value. On the other hand, a lot of members who were previously active in DP and have left in the recent past are likely to return to DP once the trash goes off BST and I personally feel the best way to filter the trash out from BST is to bring in a pay per thread model. When there are tens of thousands of members in a public forum, it is not easy to moderate threads. Keeping entry barriers such as having to pay to start a thread in BST will prevent at least a part of the threads created by those offering useless services and this in turn will make the job of mods much more easier.

I think its better to start with a PAY fee to start a sales thread. This way the number of useless people asking for this and that will reduce significantly. And the people there in BST will provide legitimate service. Who wants to spam anyone after paying a 20-30$ fee for opening a sales thread to advertise your service.

Lets face it guys DP is ranking 185 in alexa which is way lot. Creating a new pay system will only get quality traffic in the sense that people who are really interested in buying and selling service.

Right now, Everything is messed up as far as I think and I really use to love DP when I joined back in 09.

I wish the mod can workout something on saving DP and its heart BST.

Ps: I know my siggestion and views will get unnoticed. No harm done in sending the message across.

Users already have the ability to bump their own thread. I don't really see how making making all new threads require to pay a fee really solves anything. If people *really* want to pay for something, why not just let them pay to bump their thread(s) more often than they are normally allowed. Although if they did that, they probably would already have premium membership which already allows that.

Yeah! You are right - So why not introduce Something like Pay For thread (BST) section and by re-introducing the Last Post by default.

If the amount for each thread is high enough, people would think twice before posting their services and Useless threads can be avoided (Which includes spams and shit in site section and BST as a whole)

Looking at what today the face of BST is, even If I have a killer service to provide, even if I have a premium account, even if I can bump the thread every 7 days but still the thread gets dumped the stock of all other useless threads. The amount of time I get business for is a MAX a day when the thread is on the first page.

This is not the case with me but every other service providers on the forum.

You can already set how you want to sort thread lists in your settings. You can set it to anything you want.

    Not going to set the default to something that helps anyone specifically. If we were going to do that, we would just set it to sort by username alphabetically so that people with usernames that start with "a" are always at the top. {rolls eyes}

ahhhh, Well! then why did you guys hadn't done this thing 3 years back? Why now? The reason you gave is quite invalid and is never done on any forum.

Btw, I have never noticed anyone saying "I want to watch user names starting with 'a' first in BST section"

Thanks a lot! I got my answer. Good luck and best of success to you and your team.

Because we constantly evolve and get better. We also didn't have the auction system, the bump system and many other things 3 years ago. Should we also remove those?

There are a lot of things we do that is not done on other forums. Thankfully we don't have to be restricted to what others do or don't do. Should we discontinue Phone Home since it wasn't created 3 years ago and no other forum does it as well? :)

Yeah! you are right. But those things have not affected us adversely that's why you must have *noticed* that no ones complain about that.

And your point is right, forum do need to evolve. But if so many people and I mean almost all of them are complaining about something, then there sure is some problem with the development which is not appropriate.

Constantly you're saying "you should pay! it'd be better if everyone had to pay to start a thread!"

To be completely honest here, a lot of the things I try to sell on DP go for less then ~$5 each. It would be pointless for me to pay $20, and loose $15 out of my own pocket. ;)

Advertising your product and service is a skill. I have managed to make 15 sales on DP by my mixed link building technique in a matter of 1 week.

But then the threads got deleted. :p

I also agree that in some sections there should be some fee to post thread...

These days people are posting useless threads ( I saw 1 guy having 10-15 threads with different titles and pointing his url in all threads ) More over you can check anytime in " services " section there will always be thread ( WTS : FIRST Page on google ) and seriously if you talk with them , they even dont how to do normal SEO and charging 5k-6k with half payment in advance

    I know, right?
    :)

Somebody suggested five dollars per year, that would be more in my budget than $20 for sure. It's just like all of the jobs on Rentacoder cost $3 or 15 percent (whichever is highest) to bid on and this really sucks when the job is only a 5-10 dollar maximum accepted bid.

Please keep things the way they are at DP = FREE! Thank you.
