The problem with basing an permission on number of posts and especially than many post is that folks will just post garbage to get to the limit and the mods will end up with more work and the forum will have crappy content.

Also a lot of the recommendations are based on DP taking an active 'policing' role and that is not going to ever happen because the cost and time commitments to that is huge!

It would be nice if the BST section was a little more organized so buying and selling was more seperate and maybe a few more sub (specialty) forums were added. I would really like to see 'link sales' divided into buying/selling it would make it much easier to find what you need.

Just cause something is against a ToS does not automatically make it illegal, so I don't think that would really work.

All the stuff about having mods get involved with iTrader is a tough one, I don't think that it would be possible. It would be nice if you could comment on the itrader left for you, that way you could mention additional info (like on ebay).

The better wording would probably be people selling things that violate the providers tos (paypal accounts, ebay accounts ect.)

Then the next part is people doing things that are in fact illegal. Some I can think off the top of my head would be the selling of email lists (I've seen that) , spamming services a few other things. Lets not forget impersonating someone else would also be illegal which is what most of the people do when it comes to selling paypal accounts as the new owner needs to impersonate the seller to get the account out of limited mode.

Why report them to the mods? there isn't a rule against it so they're not going to do anything.

Report it to 'em. DP has no such rule, yet, to stop these things. You can even sell your granny here (j/k). Selling vouchers and activated AdWord accounts is also 'not allowed', I think. Same goes with PayPal: selling PayPal funds, accounts and VCC.

Once DP get rid of 'em, they'll also get rid of 99% scams.

Well, here's a suggestion about the Web hosting section.

There are quite a few threads opening up every day in the web hosting section, claiming to offer Unlimited space & unlimited bandwidth for pennies.

5-6 people signup for each offer & then 2 months later come back to complain that the host disappeared with their data & their money.

    Example threads -
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=634954
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=602759
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=658039
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=652741
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=653074

You then have threads blasting OSHQ.com & other such companies.

IMO, to avoid all this, we can just go the WHT way, by banning such threads from being created. This will save members from being scammed, thus lesser fights in the threads (which are eventually in General Chat section) & lesser work for the moderators.

What do you guys think ?

    Thanks
    Ishan

Im getting really tired myself seeing the diggs and stumbles in the freebies section. example the other day i went to post a freebie in that section i got out my timer when i posted the freebies thread and started my timer just to see how long it would take my thread to disappear, within 1 minute my thread was buried on the 4th page from all them dam diggs and stumbles i wish they would either stop them or move them to there own section.

I back this up! Shoe are you going to do anything about this. Those unlimited/unmetered threads have to stop. Even those 800 GIGABYTES space and the 10,000 GIGABYTES bandwidth threads should stop. And also that stumbleupon and digg thing is really annoying.

    i don't agree with you

they should be allowed but in a special forum made for stumble/digg/propeller and similar exchanges

freebies forum should become as it was a year ago: for giveaways

They can't do that because its not allowed. You are not allowed to digg and stumble each other.
