Hi, Oh my. I just saw on the news www.browzar.com beta. I don't know if there are any other threads on this, but the engine looks brilliant. The USP of this search engine is that unlike google, which keeps all searchers' cookies until the year 2038, this engine deletes all cookies and other privicy intrusive elements. Also, it's a downloadable client which is quite unusual amongst search engines. I'm just wondering what you all think of it, and whether it'll really take off? Judging by the media and television exposure, this looks like it's going to be pretty big. A potentially major competitor for google? What do you think?
What's this got to do with google...? Edit: Looks pretty shitty. Plus I don't believe their claim of "No spyware". Looks exactly like that.
It's not a search engine it's a browser just like firefox or internet explorer but more focused on privacy.
That's right With all the extensions and devotees to FF i don't see Browzar as a major player, ever that is Why did you post this under All other search engines since it's a browser?
Its a private browser. Like firefox and IE except it doesn't reveal which sites you have visited to every other user of your PC.
Yeah sorry about that. Some how thought it was a search engine. Probably because the news reporter kept asking him questions about google and other engines lol.
SERPS, Brum, is Search Engine Ranking Positions... Not results page... So what long call was refering to was that its ranking is poor... Not sure what I think of it yet but Ill do some resurch and post my findings.
The first thing I note is that the software has different downloads for different skins, this dissapoints me really. Software such be skinable and then the option to download new skins or 1 skin. Install was nice and quick, or more to the fact it had none, which means downloading each time I want to use it, or saving creating icon, ect. Bad idea. As far as the most important thing, the search results ASU with these type of things, first 8 results was paid, or on some keywords upto the first 40! Good idea, however I checked it still gets my IP.. erm. Whats good? The idea, whats bad? The rest. However I do own a in-making search so I might have baised views (I don't think I do) so check it out for yourself.
I guess is not a major player anymore. http://web3.0log.org/2006/09/01/new-secure-browser-browzar-is-fake-and-full-of-adware/
