We did one layout few days back for a client, and that client sounds to be cocky about the browser testing, by doing CTRL+ and CTRL- on his windows PC and says the layout breaks. As far as my knowledge is concerned, Im sure, this is not the correct method to test any layout. So, how do I make him believe that what Im saying is right, and what he is trying to test is the wrong method ? I had a link , which explained this, but Im not able to find it right now. So, let me know, how you would handle such a customer ?
You are correct this is not the right way of testing sites. The right way is trying out the site in all major browsers. Zooming the site in or out will often break some elements on the page depending on how they were made and positioned. I am not sure about the link but anyone who has ever viewed a website knows that you dont test it by zooming in and out i mean thats just silly.
