Selling Browser Game Builder - unique text-based browser game creator

Browser Game Builder is a unique site/script that I have programmed from scratch (except for the design of the site which was purchased). It allows visitors to create their own browser-based RPG and add items, NPCs, etc to their game. Then the game owner can promote their game to their friends and other people on the internet. People can then sign up and play the game that was created and then buy or complete offers to receive "credits" in the game to do more things.

I have put in a lot of hours of programming, but became tired of this project. To be honest, most of the people that created games abandoned them right away and this frustrated me. My traffic may not have been a high quality of traffic or I may have just not had enough features that people wanted in their games. Since most of the games were abandoned and not promoted by their owners, the revenue that the games made was very low. The total income from all of the games has been around $50 and almost $40 of that was from one game.

I have paid for advertising through a few different game-related ad networks. I can tell the buyer which ones I've used and which I recommend. I believe I still have some advertising credit on at least one of them.

BONUS: To the buyer of this site, I will also throw in another site, browserbasedgaming.com, which is a top sites list for browser games. I have also made it so that new games created with Browser Game Builder are automatically added to Browser Based Gaming. The top games site is based on the Aardvark script, but has a custom design and lots of additional features.

I'm selling this AS-IS and the buyer will be responsible for fully inspecting the site before purchase since I will not fix any bugs or errors after the sale. Let me know if you have any questions.

 

Can you confirm the site ownership? I will bid if you can. Also, would you be willing to change the site template? I may want to use a new PSD template for it. Also, does the engine support themes?

Ok, I confirmed site ownership. Are you talking about the template for the site itself or for the games? It would be pretty easy to use a different template for the site itself and just use the same PHP code in the new template. Changing the template for the games would be possible too since you can edit the code for all of the games at once, but it would be a little more difficult.

Also, it requires cron jobs that run every 5 minutes so you may need a VPS. I currently have it hosted at Hostgator for $50/month, but you may be able to find something for cheaper that'll work since it doesn't use much bandwidth. I will do my best to either transfer my hosting account or move the site to yours.

I may also be willing to make small modifications to the buyer for free or a reasonable hourly free depending on the selling price. Let me know if you're really serious.

 

How much would you charge extra to change the site template and to allow templates for people to choose for their games?

Would you have the site templates already made or would I have to make them? I would probably do additional work for around $10/hour after the sale. If you already had the templates already made and coded, it could probably be done in about 5 hours unless they are really complex or involve more work than I'm imagining. The game owners can already upload a header banner and change the colors of the current template for their game.

lane11 contacted me outside of Digital Point and we talked as he did the BIN and said that he was paying me $1000 through Paypal immediately, but never did and I have become suspicious of him since he just joined DP and his FB account seemed fake. Since he didn't pay me for the BIN, I rejected that bid, but left his $200 bid since that happened to be the reserve. I'm hoping some other people with a better reputation on DP will bid higher, but if not, I may accept lane11's bid with caution.
