Browser (firefox and google chrome both) shows raw php code or downloads the file.

    i am using wamp and apache 2.2.9 and php 5.2.6

    hey there what to do to solve this.i followed some instruction on web to configure apache 2.2.9 but its not working.yesterday and tried the phpinfo(); code in my apache server.it showed the php information but whenever i would try to view other php files it asks what to do or it just downloads the file automatically.what to do to solve this please help me.

    You have to proper configure your httpd.conf file in order for apache to recognize them.
    Do you use a windows or linux base server? In windows it come normaly all properly configured.

    i have windows and have earlier tried to configure httpd.conf but not working still.

    if you can't figure out whats the problem i suggest use XAMPP

    Just to be clear, did you install apache and php separately or did you run the installer for windows?

    yeah i suggest too to use XAMPP its much easier with just one installations ur done. .just google it, you can also use WAMP for windows LAMP for Linux or MAMP for MAC

    I installed uniform server successfully without any kind of problems. I had the same problems however under a linux server and i had to change httpd.conf file configuration according to some tutorial information i found at that time. Just paste the error message you get into google and you might find the info you're looking for.

    THANKS EVERYONE!!Half of the problem is solved using WAMP.but now it says that i dont have permission to view this pages.dont i have permissions to view my own webpages??please help there
