    I have been reading here and sifting through the information on bringing up a page rank. I have went from a 3 to a 4. Lots of work to go up one! But I'm gettin' there.

    Now for a question here. Being listed on a google page that ranks 8, does that affect my page rank? Is it counted as a back link? If so I'll work on getting the rest of my site up there.

    Also I want to thank everyone for the advice they have posted here.

    Separate issue here but if my little plan works here and I get it set up I may have a chance to make over 16k in one week. (Well planning it out has taken a bit of time but by the sounds of it and user/member input looks really promising.) And it is utilizing advertisers to my site!

    Once I get it running and it's even a little successful I'll post the details here on how to accomplish a little more income since I have learned so frickin' much from here!

    all links affect your pagerank... just to differing degrees. the pagerank of the page and the number of other links on the page affect to what degree it will influence your PR.

    I don't think links from SERP count as backlinks.. However, the benefit from the traffic you gained far surpass a PR 6 page ranked number 100 :)

    Yes I have noticed that my page gets about 500 hits more a day now. Which is up about 30%.

    Does out right trading of links help or is it just back links?

    what exactly do you mean? links that don't show in google's link: operator queries do count, if that's what you're asking

    What's the difference? As long as there's an href pointing directly to your site, they're both one and the same. BTW, I'm launching a fishing site soon as well. Yours looks real nice (a bit cramped with the ads on top though.)

    I think he is asking if a number 8 Google SERP listing will count as a backlink to his page? :rolleyes:

    To Roger, you can check out your stats to see what are the main referrers to your site. Trading links with popular sites do have a significant effect in attracting traffic :)
