    I know you leak PR when there are broken links but does it affect rankings?

    if you mean keyword ranking, yes certainly it has affect on that.

    I would imagine it would also affect trust, which is more important than PR.

    yes, broken links will decrease your serp positions.

    there is software xmenu which can detect your broken links or files.

    you can use it to find the broken links on your site
