    Hi everyone,

So I'm an absolute newbie to internet marketing. I've had a desire to learn for the past year or so and have read some of those ebooks on "making a killing with google" or "how to quit your job...". I know now from what I've been reading (and experiencing), that an internet business still takes work and determination.

I'm just not sure where to start. That's where you come in.

I don't have any extra money, but I'm honest and willing to work to learn how to become successful at this game. I tried selling a book I wrote as an ebook and got a few hits but I may have limited myself by calling it "Project 10k3" (www.10k3.com all feedback is gratefully received).

Long post, my apologies, short question is.....are there any mentors out there willing to help?

    Thanks!
    Nick

No one is really going to help you for nothing, the best advice I can give is just study your ass off and if money is an issue just looking into the free methods of IM to start with.

hey mate, I'd suggest checking out my link for some free help. I won't coach you for free, but I do have plenty of information for free.

At least you finally realise that this stuff isn't super easy. It does take a lot of work and anyone who tells you otherwise is probably trying to sell you something.

I'm happy to answer a couple of questions though. Feel free to PM me.

djnick, online business is not a game, it is definately a business. If you can come out with a unique/creative business concept, you can find your sponsors ( here or other sources ), hire programmers from elance, scriptlance etc and get the ball rolling. After that, promote your site and wait. Marketing is the hardest part. Spend a few hours reading this forum will help for sure.

    Good luck. :)

    Best advice - Take Action.

You gotta start a site. Think of a general topic. Buy a domain - $9. Get hosting - $5/month. Just start doing something! Once you start doing something hands-on, you'll be able to narrow down your questions, know what to google, etc. And then go from there :)

Here's my suggestion: Go to the Freebies section, dig down deep into older threads if nothing new excites you. Read that material and use the Search feature here in DP to search for similar information throughout the board.

Alternatively, use Google. There are countless blogs that give out very good tips.

Topics you might be interested in could include:
    Niche Research
    Article Writing & Article/Bum Marketing
    Traffic Generation
    SEO + Backlinks
    Cost Per Action (CPA) Marketing
    Affiliate Marketing
    Info Product Sales Funnels

This should help you set off and make a few bucks.

Alternatively, if you want proper guidance, you'll need to pay mentors. For that, do a little bit of freelancing (graphic design, data entry, content writing, etc.) and make some money to pay as mentorship fees.

    All The Best :)

Based on my experience, the mentor is anywhere.
You can read up all the thing at the internet and this will be better than guide from mentor.

For what it's worth, looking back one thing that perhaps held me back was not focusing on one niche. I was all over the shop and while that's fine, you have to do all the work for the 1st before moving onto something new.
