My contract with Homecall is coming to a delightful close and while maybe not the worst broadband provider I've had, they haven't exactly been amazing. After going through a lot of contracts online, I was wondering if people could give me their preferred broadband providers in the UK. Preferably I'm after something thats unlimited and doesn't throttle P2P downloads too badly (I've had a look around and I have a feeling that they all nearly do). Price isn't factor here, just download limits and speeds Any help would be deeply appreciated!
Go with virgin media. This is a screenshot of my traffic stats. Bear in mind my housemate is a much more intense user. PS. I am on 20Mbit package.
How good is the Sky one? I've heard mixed reviews, and we have sky tv, but I'm slightly skeptical about them.
well i am on them at the min and have no probs... i also have 1 x laptop 2 x xbox 360s and 2 pcs running with users online and i dont feel a thing runs smooooth the support was sweet and the price is mega cheap check the max package out. Up to 16Mb for £10/month its 150 quid cheaper then BT lol try this link you can compare them =) http://broadbandcomparison.sky.com/default.aspx?offer_type_id=4&tv=True&conn=False&ci=1
I'm using Talk Talk (AKA Opel Telecom) on their £20 per month all in package - 40 GB download limit (8 meg speed), but they aren't too strict about that. They've picked up their game over the last 6 months and I'm quite happy with them.
Thats nearly an identical set up to what I'll have, so I may have to seriously consider it. Cheers for the help
