Broad vs targeted blog topics

I started a blog a few months ago, have been doing everything I can to build traffic and write solid content as often as possible, yet I am seeing absolutely no progress what so ever. Part of me thinks it is due to the fact that my topic is so broad -- sometimes I write about green and environmental stuff, sometimes politics, sometimes economics, sometimes healthcare....I am thinking if I broke that up into like 3 separate blogs, each would find more success individually then the one I am currently working on.....

Has anyone else experiences a difference in traffic and adsense revenue between broad and targeted topic blogs?

Maybe no one had a comment because you were impatient!. :p

I would definitely break it up into three separate blogs. How do you manage keywords etc but Having such a broad range of subjects.

I am a firm believer in one niche only.

I'm starting to agree with that. Would you recommend I buy domain names targeted to my keywords, or could I use slsblog for one of them and just market it as a specific niche blog?

Some people say that the domain name doesn't matter but I beleive that it does. I would buy speific domain name for each blog and then go on from there.
