'Broad', 'Phrase' or 'Exact' match type when using Google keyword tool?

I am using the Google keyword tool (in AdWords account) to do my keyword research. To get a realistic idea of traffic, should I select the 'Exact', 'Phrase' or 'Broad' option for the keyword search?

The reason I ask this is because if you do a Google search for a specific phrase, a lot of the results will not be exact matches, but will show related matches.

Thanks Safaseo. The 'broad' search seems way to high. I'll stick with the 'exact' search.
