I would use them AND ibrian's service on similar campaign and see which worked better.

Everyone is cagey about giving out information, and rightly so.

The question is, once I had figured out who was better, would I share this kind of info on a forum... ???

    ;)

Indeed, although I personally try to ensure we stay within interpretations of Google's webmaster guidelines as much as possible, the bottom line is that search engines simply do not like link manipulation.

Therefore whatever we are involved in I want to remain low-key, and not perceived to be a threat to the relevancy of search engine results. It's not our goal anyway to threaten erlevancy - but we especially don't want it to even be mis-construed to be so.

Search engines can forgive some degree of manipulation - heck, that's what SEO is about - but SE's put up with it so long as it doesn't become too overt. SearchKing, WhatU, Traffic Power - these are all lessons SEO's need to take note of. Search Engines accept being jostled, but refuse to allow themselves to be shoved out of all concern.

As for link-building as a service - the Britecorp Link Network is most certainly going to be useful as a compliment other linking strategies. Serious webmasters will often employ multiple methods. I simply aim to create a service that looks attractive to be considered as part of that armoury.

Anyway - I appreciate that Shawn is obviously very patient, but I do rather feel that I'm dancing on the verges of self-promotion simply replying here, and I would rather not disrespect good hospitality.

So if anyone has any questions then do feel free to ask myself directly by e-mail:

Hm, Searchking is pradnetwork.com. Seems an ok service to me, although it has a colorful past. I get the impression bob massa would sell his mom... but that can be a good thing...

There is tons of info on the "Traffic power fiasco" at

    http://www.trafficpowersucks.com

Basically Traffic Power does reciprocal linking and doorway pages, and have had a ton of clients kicked out of google, and are very strict about not returning money.

I was unable to find any info on whatu... is this "whatuseek.com?"

I was able to determine that Whatu is the polynesian god of hail... ;)

The point about the above examples is that they all set out on big campaigns without any regard for search engines. The end result was that search engines punished them all. The lesson is that if you want to play with search engines you can look to bend the rules - even break them if you really know what you are doing - but you ignore the sensibilities of search engines at your cost.

Hence if you're going to attempt to be involved in any kind of ranking manipulation, you keep things relevant, as close within guidelines as possible, and generally don't try to pee-off the industry.

I agree that "whenU" (if indeed that was what you meant) and traffic power acted stupidly and paid the price.

However, search king seems to be doing fine. Yes, they were PR0ed, but due to their high profile hijinks enough people have heard of them that they are still in business and doing okay, as far as I can tell. Their network (like yours) is confidential, so google can't punish their inventory.

So it's been a while since this thread was started, and I've been following this thread with interest to see how it goes. I haven't seen any recent posts in a while from those subscribing to the service about how the program is working. Has anyone seen any positive results from the Brightcorp link campaigns?

Just an update regarding my participation in this program. I'm doing some work on my own so I can't attribute all of the results back to this program, but do attribute some of the progress to my participation:

    For my keyword phrase:

    Yahoo: Top 20
    MSN: Top 10
Google: Top 130 (just appeared in the first 200 yesterday, moved up 20+ spots today)

I've actually started to receive some traffic, which has resulted in a couple of orders, from Yahoo.

I'm not actually expecting anything to happen for some while yet - Google is the most important search engine and everything is almost certainly sandboxed with them. Other search engines tend to be very picky on how they index, too.

Any results before that are great, though. :)

If you're in the program you received an e-mail explaining everything and showing you how to check the status of your account.

Lol! Not old sites - a Link Network of specially constructed sites and pages - unique content, unique IPs, no duplicate content, link variations, some degree of theming, plus client links placed alongside industry giants for general legitimisation of the listed links. :)

The Link Network runs on the principle that search engines like links, and they especially like the text within the links - the anchor text. I guess it's really a form of widespread text link advertising on widely dispersed low-PR pages. But...that's not to everybody's tastes, and I don't dispute that.
