Seems like most of those savings are from white-space and comments. I saved 30.1%. However, 520 of the 586 bytes it saved was white-space and comments.

Give some thought to just how little burden a plain text file is.

Were each selector and each property on its own line, a 1000 line stylesheet (and when's the last time you saw one of those?) wouldn't take 4 seconds on a dialup connection, and about 1/10th of a second on dsl. And, it is only loaded once per session. A more likely size for a stylesheet is about 2kB, which is about ½ and 1/100 of a second respectively.

It would be better to put your efforts toward formatting its layout for readability by the Mark I, mod 0 human eyeball.

    cheers,

    gary

Those using Wordpress, try this plugin:

    CSS Compress

Just install and forget. Compresses my css nicely. :D
