I am trying to make a living through my online gym equipment store and I'm having some real difficulty in determining an optimal design for my site. After all, I can't even match my clothes, so I'm not the best at mixing and matching colors and other variables that contribute to the design and layout of my website. Please provide me with some constructive criticism on what you like and don't like. The price slashes are a marketing tool and I'd rather not discuss them. Thank you for your time. Here is my site. http://www.kingsofcardio.com/
Site looks serviceable, very basic- could be a good thing- not sure. Colors are def easy on the eyes. You really need a good logo though. And a better header. If you like hit me with a PM an I can help you with that.
One thing you can do is find your closest competitors and compare your site (design, pricing, user-friendliness, etc.) to theirs. It helps. Some of those sites have been online for years and their staff has years of experience in figuring out what works what doesn't. For instance, I went to: http://www.bowflex.com/bowflex-home-gyms-us/bowflex.jsp and http://www.totalgym.com/ and I can say that your site does look great. If you could just make your logo stand out a little bit, the rest looks good to me.
Just my 0.2c, but your prices say "regular price" in green, cut off, then "your price" in red, and it`s again cut off.. Not really ok with that.
Not bad for a shopping cart. One thing I noticed is your logo should not be fixed to the left side of the screen. It needs to be a position: relative for starters. Also could use a better logo. You have a good base though. And it looks like you have put a good amount of work into it though.
I've had a difficult time coming up with a logo that looks professional and not cheesy, yet each time I wind up with a logo that has a Kings Crown on top! Any ideas?
