Bright pink and black combination

    Hi All,

I have been asked to design a site with the colours, bright pink, black and red.

Now I think this sounds horrible and I am finding it hard to work out a scheme, and what colour to use where.

Bit of a long shot but does anybody know any sites that have these colours so I can see how they work?

    Thanks

    Carl

look for it in the 9rules.com network. you'll probably find one close to that color scheme. i wouldn't know what to do with the red in that combo.

I think the trick with a combination like that is to use the really bold colours only in moderation, as an accent. I guess that would mean using more black than anything else, although personally I hate that idea.

Sites with black backgrounds generally are too dark. But likewise bright pink and red would be too much, used as a background. My instinct would be to consider all three colours to be too strong to use as anything other than accent colours, and add white to the scheme, to use for the background. Then have small graphical elements, links, and buttons in the three bold colours. With reds and pinks, a little can go a long way.

if it were me i would use black/red as the main color scheme (mostly black with red thrown in here and there) then i would incorporate pink in very small places like first word or two a topic or something like that

    Get the red out!

I think black and pink would be ok, but I agree, where does the red come into this.

Lt Grey and pink look good together.

I agree as well. The red just does not belong. I too have a very hard time designing with red for some reason. I have seen pink / white and light grey work very well together.

I use www.cssbeauty.com for design inspiration. I also like how the webmaster used black with this site: http://www.music-jokes.co.uk/

I agree about the red issue, it goes nowhere in it,
If it's Css, then It's all upto you, but if it's graphics I suggest applying a lot of gloss effect, as that's what i generally for my clients ....
If they are asking for girly colours like pink, don't give them just the colour, adjust it well with images, Check out twinklesays.com to see what I have done with the pink colour, for my gals blog ....
For the gloss effect see viprasys.com
    Hope it helps,
    Abhishek
