I thought I had seen everything when it comes to ppc and google. That was until today. I have had 2 of my ads disapproved. Disapproval reasons is bridge page. Bridge pages are web pages that has the sole purpose of directing traffic to another website. These landing pages are standard review style pages that a lot of us use everyday. One of these ads has been running for over 6 months. has anyone seen this before? Any ideas? I have contacted google but do not expect much of an answer.
lots of feeder sites use this method for adwords and have no problems. But these are full sites, maybe because it is only a single page?
Adwords has been against bridge pages for a while... since they introduced quality score into their ad ranking. Bridge pages may only succeed in the short-term and should be used to find out if a product converts... and then you build up a mini-site around that page. It is all to do with the timing, if you leave it too late and get slapped with a low quality score, you may find it hard to improve from that position. If you have a small site initially - the landing page, a main home page, a privacy page, a contact page, terms of service or something like that... it takes longer to create but should prevent you falling into poor quality score zone and/or bridge page status. This enables you to find out how well the product converts and whether it is worthwhile to continue promoting it via adwords. If it does convert well and you are happy to continue promoting it, then you can simply build up the site with a few new pages and add a sitemap to improve visitor experience. Just thinking... maybe Google are cracking down heavily now due to Google Nemesis landing pages flooding adwords?
