Bridge page and Landing page Differences?

    Hi

Newbie here, been doing Affiliate Marketing for about 6 months now. Decided to concentrate on PPC (Adwords) after exporing other alternatives to drive traffic (ie. article marketing, seo, blogs etc).

I notice that Google is cracking down hard on affiiates using Bridge pages.

I personally use Landing pages within my site to drive targeted traffic (ie. site also has privacy policy/disclaimer/contact us etc).

Can I just ask what is the difference between a bridge page and a landing page?

Google terms says they don't allow bridge pages which provide 'limited' value,

All my landing pages are full of original useful content, and I avoid promoting 1-page sales sites (like in clickbank), weight loss products (they all seem scams to me), this acai berry stuff, and anything else which looks dodgy or too good to be true (make $10,000 in your first week type stuff).

Sorry for the long post, this is my first post in affiliate marketing.

    Many thanks.

    Abi

A landing page is any page on the Internet. There's nothing special about a landing page. It's just the place where you send your clicks.

A bridge page, as Google calls it, is a landing page where the intention is to direct people to another page in order to sell something (the merchant's page). In other words, there are affiliate links on that page. That's what Google objects to. Such pages provide limited value and poor user experience.

    Thank you for the reply.

Are you saying that Google is against all affiliates who use landing pages with affiliate links on them, regardless of the value of the content on those pages (or the value of the whole site)?
