BreakTheVault.com - $4,000 BIN - *MUST SELL THIS WEEK*

    Hi everyone,

I'm selling a very unique website today, it's been in my hands for a year but has been sitting there for about 10 months collecting dust. The sites concept is simple...every week a new clue is automatically displayed on the page, using the clues you must try and guess the correct password to unlock the vault and win $100.

The website has a 100% custom coded backend which uses PHP & MySQL, it's password protected for admin access and allows you to setup multiple games in advance, e.g when one game finishes another one starts. A neat feature also allows you to view every guess along with IP address and timestamps.

The reason the site has been sitting there is due to the fact that I found it difficult to keep creating challenging games. If you're clever enough to come up with good clues then this can make you an absolute fortune! When it first launched I posted it on digg and it made the front page within 24 hours, from this the site had 45,000 guesses within 48 hours!

Revenue comes from 2 streams, firstly the adsense, in the first week of launching the peak was $15/day. The second is from selling advance clues, clues cost $5 and are automatically e-mailed after you pay for them via paypal. Clues make more money and i've done $200 in a week by selling these, including many repeat orders.

The design of the site is awesome as i'm sure you will agree and was done by www.4design.tv, it cost around $1,500. The script cost me $800.

There is no point me sending you any traffic/revenue information as it's been dead for ages....but based on the initial weeks when it was running, if kept at this peak, it can easily attract 5,000-10,000 uniques/day and do in excess of $500/week with no problems.

Feel free to check the website out, unfortunatly I can't show you the admin area but for interested parties, screenshots can be provided. The backend was actually coded by sitepoints php guru of the year (2006) so it's to a very high standard.

www.breakthevault.com (note, this is a demo game so please don't buy clues or expect to win!)

    Thanks everyone!

It just says BIN $4000 - so I doubt it's an auction.

$4,000 BIN, no auction...that's the lowest I will accept for it at this time.

I think the BIN is acceptable seeing how much effort has gone into the site - although it would have been nice if he maintained the traffic and revenue on it.

That's the issue. Because it was 'dead' for almost 10 months, the value of the site should not be too high.

In 10 months anything can happened.

Did you take into consideration the coding costs? The script is unique and amazing. You don't appreciate anything besides revenue.

Well, I was happy for about an hour and now PayPal have opened an investigation into the payment I recieved.

    My account now says...

    US Dollars: -$3,843.70 USD

And the user has the domain, all the files and everything...as you can imagine I am very happy with all of this!

Bah, can't believe you got scammed through the old unauthorized payment deal. Contact the registrar ASAP and provide proof of sale and proof of chargeback, even better, call the registrar, and they should be able to get it back for you.

Well, in short of e-mailing Namecheap, paypal and my hosting provider...there isn't much else I can do at gone midnight. I tried ringing paypal but they didn't answer, was a machine.

I already have the users address and contact information, along with his IP as he downloaded files from my server...

It's never nice to scam someone, especially when they're in the Police!

Namecheap don't have a number....if you can show me one, i'll ring them.

If anyone can shed any further light on this....

    The user is mak4bd

I just did a search on mak4bd and it doesn't look like he is a scammer. I would think this problem is on Paypal's end.

Then again, respectable members of the community might turn bad if they see an opening for a little green.
