Carl Icahn the famous billionare investor sent a letter yesterday to Yahoo calling them deceitful as they were trying to prevent a buyout from Microsoft, today Yahoo responded to the letter. Here is the letter. What do you think will happen?
What ever happens, this is going to fun to watch over the coming months, because Icahn does not play. Yahoo-MS the deal will happen
That's an interesting letter. Thanks for posting it. This comes as Microsoft claims it will "fix its Live Search branding problem." I suspect if Microsoft purchased Yahoo that too would have new problems...
This could, and very well will drag on for 6 months, maybe even longer. It may not even happen all together. Basically Icahn is going to try to beat up the current Yahoo into submission with these public letters. Currently the whole deal is being handled poorly, and they are both shrinking any chance of grabbing a bigger search engine market share.
Yahoo being bought out by Microsoft is inevitable. They can fight it all they want but Microsoft has more friends in the tech field than Yahoo and since Google cannot aquire them they have no one else to turn to.
What I am really excited about is that when Yahoo and MS will be finally be together. And if that happens I can't wait what kinda team-up they could have.
They won't beat Google, It's almost impossible to beat them. They are just too good it's like me and a friend saying we'll take over the United states, It's possible it's just hard as hell to do.
I agree its gonna be hard. But if Google didn't think MS+Yahoo posed a problem they would not be saying how its gonna be bad for the technological industry because Microsoft does some bad stuff. My main problem with Google is they act like they are the police and locking up everyone who says something bad against opensource because they are there for the little guys. I can't find one major thing Google did last year that made it easier for us Webmasters to be more succesful. In fact they did quite a bit to make it harder for us.
Maybe better for the company but not for the search engine market. And that's why the FCC would surely block such a deal. Plus you know Microsoft is gonna do everything they can so that will not happen.
