I don't agree with the whole situation. One day we will go through another period of inflation like the late 70s and the early 80's that took us off the copper standard.

Most people don't know that up till 1982 a cent was 95% copper and weighed 3.1 grams and now it is 97.5% zinc and weighs 2.5 grams

Hmm, I hadn't mentioned God. But since you brought Him into the discussion, yes, I am thankful to God for His protection. In fact, I pray for it every day for my family.

Ron Paul would be 73 years old if elected president. Ronald Regean was 69 and hit 73 after completing his 1st term. I don't believe Ron Paul is going anywhere.

People live longer these days, have you seen him winning every debate? :)

Ron Paul, even today, is more literate than 99% of most people on Earth.

Ron Paul would do an even better job than Reagan, why?
    • Reagan increased spending and debt
    • Ron Paul has a solid record on voting against most big, wasteful government

Dr. Ron Paul is the most qualified person to deal with this fact:
    • USA (estimated) National Debt Just Topped $9,001,000,000,000.00

Reagan in his 8 years saw revenues increase 95%. Spending by the Democratic congress increased 125%. Lest we forget, constitutionally, spending legislation is initiated in the U.S. House of Representatives (Democratically controlled during Reagan's years). Each year, the Reagan White House would send over its annual budget proposal, which the Democratic speaker of the House would treat as "dead on arrival" and would then proceed with his party's financial agenda.

    • Reagan is a hero to many economic conservatives
    • Ron Paul is an even bigger hero to some of those same people :)

Brief Overview of Congressman Paul’s Record:

He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
He has never taken a government-paid junket.
He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.

He voted against the Patriot Act.
He voted against regulating the Internet.
He voted against the Iraq war.

He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.

Can you find anything in Paul's agenda that you disagree with?

Its possible that we are looking at another dollar devaluation similiar to circa 1980

Oil Closes Above $80 for First Time

a $38 barrel of oil in 1980 would be worth $96 to $101 in today's dollars

Don't forget all your new copper clad pennies are all made of zinc

Pennies were, but i'm talking about our gold reserves that used to back our paper money. They stopped doing that back in the 70's. Our dollar bills are essentially worth whatever it costs to print them now.

United States Notes were redeemable in gold and none have been placed into circulation since January 21, 1971

From 1933 to 1971 foreign investors holding US dollars could freely exchange them for gold at the US Treasury at any time.

Federal Reserve Notes have no backing and there has been a 50% increase in dollars in circulation over the last six years

Where do you find the stats for dollars in circulation? That would be interesting to look at.
