As discussed before, that way newbies would have no way of contacting mods / peers for help.

Just do as always, forward the spam ALONG WITH the user's PROFILE PAGE (not name alone) to a Mod who's online and they'll get banned promptly.

Then you still deny them things like private bids just because a few wankers abuse the position.

I think most PM SPAMers have zero posts. Maybe require five posts, or maybe just one post, to send PMs, and for them, max it at sending a PM to one member at a time max. With the 30 second wait, they won't last very long at PMing one member every 30 seconds, vs mass E-mail SPAM!!

That would result in 5 spam posts here :D. I guess they should stay in PMs. :D

maby because they are bots who don't post they just spam via pm's.

Yes I think 5 posts before sending a PM is a good idea.

I too go for limiting the number of PM that can be sent at a time. A new user with zero posts sure has very less number of contacts here. So there is no reason for sending more than 1 pm at a time. The only reason I can see is spamming.

I think we can't really totally avoid spammers. Just report them to the mods and watch them be banned!!! lol... :D

The time delay plus single recipient only could be an idea. Would deter me for sure.

Agreed. One, max two pms daily should be more than enough for a noob. Also sending a single pm to multiple recipients should be forbidden for them.
