brand new site was indexed...then dropped...why?

I made a new site about 2 weeks ago. It took about 2-3 days to get it indexed...and a couple days after that (after getting some decent traffic) it dissapeared from the google index. i use only whitehat techniques.

i just submitted a sitemap and robots.txt files...but i was wondering if this happens often or i did something wrong?

note: i have 3 other sites with similar content. they all have unique content.

It just happens mate, give it time and it will re-appear, there are plenty of other threads about this in the forum.

ah ok thanks...sorry im a noob to this forum.

i havent seen this happen to any of my other sites. how long does it usually take to come back? and should i be worrying about having multiple similar sites on the same shared server?

This is pretty common. New sites often rank well for a short period of time, drop off, then slowly rise to their calculated position.

A few weeks to a few months.

Nope. Google doesn't care about what server they're on, only about the links between them.

search 'google sandbox' and you'll find your answers.

It's regular that your search engine rankings will be sporadic during your first few months. Getting some quality backlinks will definitely help you back into the rankings.
