Brand new domain, where to start?

I have had many successful domains, however not successful enough. I want to hear opinions of how you have started your website, what to do, what not to do, etc. Any articles I should check out?

Because I want to start off on a good foot and seriously will dedicate as much time as needed for this domain. My main focus is Google SEO, therefore it is in the Google SEO section.

I would do keyword research first. This way i have list of terms i could use in domain name. Then find a domain name with terms in it.

 

Thanks for the reply however I already have my domain purchased, I just don't want to start creating the site until I know what I need to do, as in get xx amount of backlinks a day, etc.

 

You should make the website for which you feel passionate and then do market or keyword research for what people are typing to search for that product.

 

Yes, however I already have the domain and my keywords setup now. I just want to know where to start to get good rankings in Google. Sorry for not being clear in original post.

 

write article and submite to ezine article and start submite powerpoint or slide
also bookmark the website

 

I would just start putting content on the site and work on building some backlinks. Use forum posts and blog posts. Make sure the content is good quality and not just copied from another site. Just repeat then

First thing to do is keyword research then proceed to on-page optimization and the last stage is the off-page optimization.
