Brand New Directory Submission Tool - Directory Expert

I'd like to let everyone know about Directory Expert, a new tool I've created for speeding up your directory submissions. It will logically take you to the best starting page and auto populate fields making real manual submission about as fast as it can be. Hopefully it will save you hours on a tedious task.

Other features are managing of multiple profiles to vary anchor text, etc., automatic successful submission detection and tracking, ability to add new directories, etc.

I'll be documenting things a lot better on the website over the next few days, but feel free to get an early look and hopefully you will give feedback either in this thread or PM me as I want to make this the final solution for speeding up those tedious directory submissions once and for all.

Minimum requirements are IE 6 and .NET Framework 1.1.

I got an abort on the client.

On some sites, the directory search results show category information with each result. In that case, the quickest way to find the best category is to search for related sites and click directly into the category where they have already been accepted.

The software will automatically take you to the best place, so if you set the search phrase in your profile to 'television', you will automatically be taken to search results for 'television' when it is the quickest submission method for that directory.

 

okay stupid question, how do you set it to auto populate the fields? im loading up directories and the fields are all blank even tho ive set up a profile

 

PS: the "Online Help" takes you to a page that doesn't exist

 

I get an error when I try to add a profile:

 

Fields should fill automatically with the selected profile information. PM me with your username if it's really not working for you and I'll take a look.

Online help is in the works now.

I've also updated the original post with minimum requirements. Mikelbek I think you are missing the IE requirement.

 

I got the same error as mikelbeck once when i clicked the checkbox for "Submit" next to one of the directories (i just clicked continue and it appeared not to be a problem).

The fields aren't populating for me. not sure what's going on, i'll PM you my info.

 

Hrm, I just got the unhandled exception when trying to add a second profile.

 

Nope, I've got IE 6.00.2900.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519, .NET Framework 1.1 and .NET Framework 1.1 Hotfix (KB886903) installed.

 

Too bad, I really like the feel of the software and the ideas behind it, hopefully the bugs get ironed out..

 

There is a new version 1.1 available here. This should resolve most if not all of the errors some folks were experiencing.
