Brand new design for my MySpace site

Looking for comments on my new site design. The cost was high, but I'm still willing to change if necessary.. www.freediskspace.com

The Site is OK but the design is not so cool

The background is a bit distracting. I guess it achieves the effect you are going for though.

 

The page is too splendid and looks busy!

Telling the truth is being angry? The truth is that the design is 5x worse that the default layout than comes with the script.

No small changes will make it good, it needs to be redesigned properly.

 

guess i'm deaing with a moron here or a kid - my guess would be a kid.. is this what you get on forums? i'm new to forums but i thought it might be some good web designers - adults - professionals - etc.. Not someone who's best criticism is 'the design is 5x worse than the default layout'. are you sure it isn't 6 times worse? or 7? i asked for specifics but i guess a kid would just say 'whatever' or 'it sucks' or 'it's 5x worse than something'.. i guess i'll have a study group look at it - which is what i should have done anyway.. thanks for all the rest who looked at it..

 

I don't personally like the design either, especially the background as it is too distracting.

Your content is great though.

 

I can't give specifics since I would be listing every aspect of the site; it's all bad. You will be wasting time by having a study group review it, if they have half a brain they will tell you to redesign it.

Everyone can be a critic but your one it matters too. If you like the way it looks, think it will grab surfers attention and your happy with it. Stick with it!

I'm sorry but I have to agree that the design isn't that great but some very small changes could fix that. Try making the background a little more neutral. The background distracts so much that instead of looking at the content I follow the background when scrolling. Minor changes like changing the font could also help a lot. Maybe its just me but I'm not a real big fan of times font (sorry if I'm wrong). Changing the background of the content area to colors that match the sidebar would also help out a lot.
