Your site looks great, but, the pages inside look nicer than the home page because of the images, maybe you could be an image on the home page?
Nice site , just add some good circuit photo atleast in front page it looks like too simple , make it little attractive .
Sorry to be negative, but from my point of view your design doesn't really look that proffesional, you should try including some images of your circuits and stuff. - Sygon
Sorry but I don't like it either. It's kind of Web 2.0 cliche-ish. I know that isn't a really word, but it looks like you tried to make it modern looking, but the Web 2.0 influences are over exaggerated. Like the reflection from the pics. It's too strong and the reflection should fade out to zero. And the reflection is too long. And most of them are starting too high, especially the ones on the text. I think you overused that. The rounded corners are too big. And there looks like there is a flat spot on them. And the icons are too big. Scale them down some. So the site is not so IN YOUR FACE! And make them more applicable to your products and headings. Also add some variation to the size, color and font of your typography. Maybe some horizontal lines to break the text up. AS for the images...you might want to look into buying or building a little lightbox. That way the pictures can look a little more professional. They are isolated and there are no distractions for the viewer. And I think I would leave out the part about you being self-taught. Is the site about the products or about you? If it's about you, leave it. If it's about the products, just push the quality of them. Those bullets aren't working. What about a micro chip for the bullet or circuit board. Something besides the default. I would try something a little more creative with the nav as well. the image behind has been used to death. I would loose the gradient and glossy look. Take a peak at some of the "big" companies that are doing the same thing. Tone the nav down and it simple to the eye and maybe add a java script rollover effect to jazz it up. I think that's enough from me. Don't want this to feel like a personal attack But I will say it's well organized. Easy to navigate. And easy to follow. Good luck!
Hi bigjoe, I like the site in general. Functional and tidy. Comments: Should you add more electronic-related content (and more text)? My feeling is that you describe the final products you've constructed very well but you don't include much on the inner workings and circuitry you can design or build. Contact details and location might also be expanded. Are you US or UK-based? Mains voltage experience? All page titles are the same - make them different and include good keywords. You make the onpage titles graphics rather than h1 text titles - this just makes the titles less obvious to spiders. alt text on images is a little weak, e.g. the alt text on the header on the home page is "logo". logo isn't a keyword for your homepage.
Hi i like this site, but your choice of mixing the greys on the front page is not good. I recommend having the darker grey, slightly darker and not bold. The the lighter grey text such as "portfolio" will stand out more. Having everything in bold is to in your face. Just my opinion
