Brand name domains refers to domains that have a popularly recognizable name of a company brand or services which are trademarked. For example ww w.microsoft.com, microsoft is the name of the brand. Having said that, big companies nowadays are very protective of their brand names and you'll be slapped with a lawsuit if you used their company or product brand names in your domains.
