Brand Keywords - Fat Loss 4 Idiots, Earth4Energy?

What do you guys think about product brand keywords, like "earth4energy" or "fap turbo"?

Those are quite tough on competition, but assuming that someone searches for the exact product name, he/she probably wants to buy it or read a review and then buy.

I just want to know is it worth building a campaign for a single brand keyword, instead of targeting a whole set of different long-tails?

Any success/failure with brand keywords anyone?

    Thanks for your time

I have had good luck with taking the brand and adding it with buy, download, review, etc.

    ex.

    "Buy Earth4Energy", "Download Earth4Energy", "Earth4Energy Review"

-free keeps away "download earth4energy free"

Yes, just like Dom says, exactly, these kind of keywords are located on the 3rd phase of the buying cycle, meaning that people searching for those have read, or listened something about this products and they want to know more or buy it, so it is a good idea to target those kw's, ;) mix them with other 3rdphase terms like:

    Buy
    Download
    Purchase
    Review
    Customer Feedback
    etc...

    Hope this helps B! ;)

    Cheers!

Most likely customers found these products via some other affiliate and weren't convinced by the sales letter enough not to check for reviews.

So you'd be finishing what other affiliate started.

These keywords convert at high rate but like you mentioned: the competition is usually very strong, particularly for any of the more popular CB products (like 4idiots and earth4.)

Adding "review" in a Brand Name keyword works best for me. As far as download keyword is concern i had hard luck.I think most people who use this "download" keyword are not willing to buy they just want a free stuff, again thats my opinion based on my experience.

I think it would be a good idea to do this in PPC, but what about if you build SEO sites for this purposes? Most of the brands get less than 100 searches a day, so is it really worth doing SEO for them?

Its worth of giving a shot to seo if you are getting good commission with average competition. I had notices the prospect searching for a particular brand is already made up his decision to buy only we have to educate about features and bit of presell.
For these type of keywords I am converting 1/15 for physical products and 1/20 for clickbank products.

Yea, these pre- and -post keywords are always good for catching people late in the buying cycle. And since the product name + these are generally less competition than the actual industry keywords that are for (ie: make money in forex) it makes them very highly targeted keywords.

Building SEO sites around these popular keywords is a good idea but only when you are convinced that you can get in the first page etc.

The keywords are winners, but since the traffic is low you either be on the first page/s or its not worthed.

Most of those terms do not have tons of searches.. and it's pretty hard do rank for such a keyword. A good tip is to buy a domain containing those keywords. (Here's a weird thing) --

A good example is "Commission Blueprint" ok? Now.. the average monthly searches on this keyword (commission blueprint is roughly 4400) according to google adwords keyword tool and wordtracker.

The funny thing is that google has made a few updates lately and the one that's standing on first position :

    www.timstoppick.com/
which is pretty weird (it's a redirecting domain as well). WTF ?

The funny bit is that commissionblueprint.com (the actual website) isn't in the listings.

However if anyone is going to do a little research you'll rapidly notice that the majority of domains ranking for "Commission Blueprint" contain these two keywords. Another proof of the domain's name importance ;)

Yeah, that's very true. Actually even being on the first page might not be good enough...You need probably be in the top 3 positions

The thing that pushes me away from this method is that you are only optimizing your website for just few keywords...:(

You definitely would want top 3 for product keywords. For most product names it's not even worth it, unless very popular.

ranking for brand name keywords in seo can definitely be handy if targeting organic traffic ... of course, it's something that a lot of people do, so that can make it tough to stay on top ...

i have sometimes got sales from not being top 3 though ... it's all about making your search results capture the reader's attention
