Hello Guys, I have a small issue on my mind lately and I thought you might help me with this. It`s about brand anchor texts. Now, I understood the fact that for domain names like let`s say "http://www.buyinggiftcardsonline.com," the brand anchor would be BuyingGiftCardsOnline or BuyingGiftCardsOnline.com. However, let`s say I want to send backlinks to one of the internal pages like http://www.buyinggiftcardsonline.com/ebay-gift-cards.html. What would be the acceptable brand anchor texts for this internal page?..eBayGiftCards or eBayGiftCards.html ? ..or both. Are there any other variations. Please, post only if you are sure of your answer. Thank you!
That's absolutely fine - you should be looking to be as diverse as possible with your anchors anyway... be sure to include naked URLs and some direct keywords, too. WebDev
Thanks for taking yr time and answer! And I understand that variations of the brand anchor text is also fine? Like "eBayGiftCards site" or "eBayGiftCards blog" ?
You should notice that your brand name is having keyword.. so it would be counted in keyword too, for this you should vary your keywords so that it would look more natural.
when you say vary ...you mean using URL, related keywords, sentence keywords, junk keywords ....all that I guess!
long tailed variations, innocuous anchors like "click here" "visit this site" etc, actual money phrases (sparingly) brand names, naked urls (www and non www versions with and without trailing slashes "/"), full sentence anchors, etc anything you can do to make it look natural. Remember you're trying to fool Google and google knows that not everyone on the web is going to link to you the same way, the more variance the more natural it looks.
You need to proffer a real world example or you will not get a useful response. A keyword stuffed domain name is by no stretch inherently a brand, nor would I consider your example a brand either. EDIT: I just did a quick glance of your code. You have read an article or two apparently from a few months ago that states brands are going to get favored more. Simply changing your title tag to your domain name does not make you a brand, either. You are misunderstanding a few things about that term I suspect. Nigel
