Branching out and dealing with sndbox

Say I have a site about widgets and added a new section about blue widgets. The latter became pretty popular and ranks well for 'blue widgets' since the content there is all original.

Now I'd like to set up a separate website for 'blue widgets' and have the section transferred onto the new site. What is the best way of doing so to avoid (or at least significantly shorten) the sandbox for the new site?

    Thanks!

i would do a 301 redirect, let google have its fun & sandbox the new site, and use rankings from yahoo & msn to get your site going.

I think this sandbox theory is a non-starter. Its just an excuse for webmasters who do not rank well to say they have been caught in the sandbox. Remember, ther are tons of sites with the same keywords who have been online for a long time and therefore you should expect to rank high so fast, especially those with only a few links. You should put the time in building links and so on. I am referring to building backlinks legally of course. How fast you build links is not an issue, if they are good backlinks ypu would not be penilised by Google for your hard work. I think Google knows the difference between spam and real relevant backlinks. Of course, in the meantime you will rank well in other search engines as well.

First of all, I appreciate your replies, guys!

Honestly, the statement above makes me want to stop reading further. I don't agree with you here at all. Anyway, reading on...

As a webmaster, I don't expect my new sites to rank high at all. If I target Blue Widgets and utilize white hat practices only and provide valuable unique content, I want to start out ranking 1,000,000 for Blue Widgets after a month or so of being indexed and climb up the rank as time goes by. Instead my experience have been waiting and waiting and waiting and not ranking for my main keywords at all (competitive niche: yes, but the content provided is fresh and unique and relevant backinks slowly being added).

p.s. We are posting all this in a "Sandbox" sub-forum described as "This forum is for discussion of the anomaly widely known as the "Sandbox" where a site's natural ranking is affected by it's age." Are all the people who believe that Sandbox exists just really really really confused??
