I found this site on Alexa... http://Snap.com I don't seems like abosuletly a great site, does what ask.com is trying but better... And does anybody else think it is weird that two of the top 5 movers and shakers on Alexa are SEs, during this Google crisis OMG, I can't stop searching on this site it is is clean and user friendly, I can't get enough What you'll think about it?
This is by far the most annoying thing to use ever. They seem to use same results or a twist of ASK.com results which is garbage. A search engine should focus on results first. Then they should try to be innovative with the interface but in this case, it's so crowded and annoying to use. Bah.. Boycott Snap!
Terrible user experence. Maybe it was just because I was on a dial-up connection tonight instead of DSL, but I didn't like it at all. Took forever to load! It reminded me of the old frames pages I looked at in Netscape 2.0 days rather than something more modern and up to date. I like the name, snap, but from my connection tonight it was not of a snap for me!
The presentation is not bad, but they should focus on user-friendliness. The site is terribly slow even the scroll bar is slow. They have put so much functionality that they had forgotten their main objective which is "Fast Search Result". Nevertheless, it's a good example. A good example for things that should NOT be included in Search Engines Features.
By the way, have you seen that Google is copying the same model used by Ask.com? I mean that selection at the top of your search reading "Refine results for "xx":"
It is a little too web 2.0 for me. The integrated "sponsored" results mixed in with regualr results HAS to go. It didn't like Firefox with script blocking on
I don't know, I actually liked the speed, thought it was fast for a site with so much style and stuff, it was a cool break from the ordinary SE... I kind of liked it at first, maybe strictly out of anger towards google... . . . . but quickly got bored afterwords I guess looks can only get you so far...
It loads a bit slow for me :/ And the page looks so crowded and busy, I prefer simple pages for searches.
Actually... I like it. Its not taking too long to load. I find the interface GREAT. The only problem is the sponsored results within the regular results. I'm lovin it...
It loads within 3 seconds for me, which is really fast to load that many screenshots. I think this site needs RAM more than a highspeed connection.
