    I get a ton of hits from boutell.com. I don't really see any benefit with these other then using bandwidth.

    Should I be banning this using .htaccess?

    I'm not sure how and why this boutell.com managed to get to my sites. Only recently have I placed a link to two of my sites on other sites.

    Boutell.com always seems to hit my site with an ip address of 127.0.0.1 which is really odd.

    127.0.0.1 is your local ip, means your computer. You may need to run spyware remover for safety.
