The algo is doing the work though... That's the thing. Just not as we might like it to work. I guess from my point of view, I'm trying to exploit weaknesses in Google, and when spam reports are filed, that only makes it harder to exploit --> Harder to make money...
I saw some weird results last night. My site went from over 6,000 pages indexed to 0, front page PR dropped from 4 to 0, and I'm no longer scoring as well in certain keywords. Backlinks remained the same. Using McDars datacentre tool, however, I am still showing a PR of 4 and 5,700 pages indexed at all datacentres.
It looks like this update is still happening. Just doing my usual check in mcdar's tool and there is a lot of flux for the terms that I track. When will it end ? Anyone else seeing it?
A lot of sites (mine included) disappeared temporarily from Google. I imagine that had some effect on keyword rankings
And I've fallen 20 pages again... I'm not sure that I like this roller coaster. I may need a barf bag.
It's been a rollercoaster ride. I myself have stopped looking at individual traffic but am checking on the overall traffic for our sites and our clients which is moving up. This stuff can drive you nuts if you look at it too much
Seriously - the dance tool is alternating between 9, 11, 15 and 17 datacenters that show the new number...GO GOOGLE GO!
