It's the percentage of visitors who only look at only one page and exit

It's the percentage of visitors who only look at only one page and... you do not know what they did next - closed the browser, pressed "back" button (probably most common), typed in a different url, went to bookmarks, run another search

Here is the more simple way. It means that for example 100 people visited your site and 20 of them just left to the other site than yours after opening your sites first page, then your site has 20% of bounce rate.

Hi Andreyp, Bounce rate depend on that how much visitor still on opened page and how much time expend on it page. Google fixed a time to calculate the bounce rate % value. Bounce rate can be decrease with build a good website structure...

If your site is mainly just homepage focussed then in my experience the bounce rate will be high. If your homepage is more just used to direct visitors to other pages within your site then it will be low.

In simple words : Proportion of visitors to a web page or web site that exit after visiting a single web page only, which is usually expressed as a percentage.

Imagine a tennis ball, which bounces off on a hard surface. If you take the same concept to website traffic, a visitor which comes to your page (xyz.html) and leaves through the same page (i.e. xyz.html) without visiting any other page of your site. That's how learned about bounce rate! :D

Bounce rate is the percentage of initial visitors to a site who "bounce" away to a different site, rather than continue on to other pages within the same site.

Rounce Rate=total no. of visits consisting one page view/total visits.
