Bounce rate questions

    Hi,

    I've been reading through and trying to re-understand the bounce rates - how they're calculated.

    And the following two questions have arisen:

    1) you visit a single page on the site, then you refresh it (reload it), then you leave the site

    In my mind, this should count into the bounce rate twice. From what I understand, these are 2 sessions during which you bounced off (both times).

    2) you visit a single page, leave it open in the browser window and after 31 minutes, you just close the browser...

    The session has ended (longer than 30 minutes), so this should also count into the bounce rate.

    To answer your questions
    1. reloading is not counted bounce rate
    2. analytics know that your browser is idle, so it is counted bounce rate
