Huge traffic that comes from sites like Twitter, Pinterest, Reddit, Stumbluepon...etc people click on link they find "interesting" and like to read more about it. They come to your site - read that stuff - and leave > target achieved? However if traffic comes from Google (for any specific keyword searching) and land on your page but they immediately leave - it means either your page does not have full information about the topic or it is completely irrelevant... That bounce rate should be considered as "bad". Well, this is my perception. Let me know what you think?
Yes,if your sites doesn't contain useful information or irrelevant than the bounce ratio should be increase..and its really bad or not good for websites owner..
bounce rate depends on the description of you website and the content, if the meta description of you website fits perfectly the content you display bounce rates would be low, if you describe something that is not present on you website bounce rate will be high, simple as that, social traffic gets lower bounce rates because usually people are grouped into interests field and less likely someone would share something that other people in that group are not interested in, while in a search engine you may "stumble" "upon" something that is completely out of whack
