This is my site data about bounce rate: (time period: 1 week) I also found that on some keywords my site shows on top 10 google results. But the bounce rate is high on those keyword. For example in "Amarok 2.0 on Ubuntu 8.10" my site displays on about 1st or second result in google. But It is producing very high bounce rate. I checked that article and it is perfect. That means the user will get his/her answer in this article.I couldn't understood why bounce rate is high on this keyword. The same problem is with other keywords too. Please help
55%-60% bounce rate is not all that bad.. but to make it lower, about the only thing you can do is write more content that will keep readers on your site longer.
I would take a good look at your site design. Can a visitor find their answer in seconds or do they have to read the whole article. But I agree with Tearabite that 55-60% bounce isn't bad.
My Site is VibgyorLife.com Check the site design. If you find any error or problem please let me know. Thanks
hopefully this is just temporary, cause it will surely create a high bounce rate. : Server Error in '/' Application. Runtime Error Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine. Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off". <!-- Web.Config Configuration File --> <configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="Off"/> </system.web> </configuration> Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL. <!-- Web.Config Configuration File --> <configuration> <system.web> <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/> </system.web> </configuration> Code (markup):
These errors often come in my websites. I talked to my hosting company(Znet India). They told me that my site crashes because of crashing of other sites on the same server. I am using shared hosting. They have given Dedicated Application Pool to my website. My site still crashes. I don't know why this happens. I am using Windows 2008 IIS7 Hosting. I think if it will stop crashing I will get more and more pageviews.
That is part of your problem right there! You might want to look into a Linux/Apache based host. You might be able to optimize your script so that it runs better/consumes less resources.. or it might have some bug in it.
Just analyze your keyphrases and update your website content accordingly.. as in your case it seems that people who are coming to your website are neither interested in your services nor your content..
