I am curious as too how much threads and posts a forum needs to look "active" and compelling enough to check it out and not leave right away.

If we use my 2 day old forum -> http://energycrysis.net

How much more posts/threads do you think it needs until visitors (who I will be receiving soon) would feel like they have to join/ or atleast check it out?

    Thanks!

I think you have made a forum on a very nice topic.

IMO, you should add more categories. One of your forum category says "Related to the Energy Crisis" but in that category you have only Global Warming forum. Try to add more forums there.

    Good luck :)

You could also have a resource section where you just copy and paste some informative articles and links in to get some content in there.

Love both of your ideas. I will add a resource section in the Members area since that seems fair to me.
Plus I BELIEVE the SE Bots can't index them and reduce potential future SERPS.

Glitto you have just given me an idea thanks!

EDIT: That reminds me, visitors can't see the members board.. I am not sure how to make it visible but unaccessible ><.
