    Hi All,
I am new to this forum.

I am using Google analytic's to look at the performance of my website.
I am looking at bounce rate and page exit rate. I am trying to define these 2 ,measurements.

The website in question is a little different to standard websites. You can't access the website without going through the home page by entering a post code. So I am confused on what Bounce Rate is, as I am getting bounce rate on Url's that you have to go through the website to access so I dont see how these are classed as bounce rate.

My understanding of bounce rate is its where a visitor views one page then leaves.

    Am I correct?

    Thanks in advance.

bounce rate defined the time spent by a user at a particluar page...bounce rate has a big effect on the ranking of the website...if the bounce rate is much than it has a negative effect on the ranking of the website...

    Thanks for the reply.
I am trying to determine why I still get pages with bounce rate on them when you can't access that page with out going through the home page first. Wouldn't this be classed as exit rate/page exit?
    Thanks
