Bounce Rate and Direct Types

I have been noticing that according to google analytics for the last couple of months that I am getting a large bounce rate from direct types. In other words, someone with a bookmark or directly typing a url at me site leaves the page immediately.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I would expect a higher bounce rate from search engine traffic, but not direct types?

Does google use the bounce rate as a factor in figuring serps? Some of my serps have fallen lately (just like everyone else), and they are climbing up again, but this bounce rate thing has me scratching my head.

Is there any argument for ditching analytics altogether? Does anyone think that google uses analytics data to enhance the serps?

Whats the name of your domain? This could be caused by misspelling. Beable are trying to go to one site and instead end up at yours.

It's definitely not a mistype, the name of the website is the exact name of a law firm. If you had bookmarked or were typing the url, this site would be what you are looking for.

Strange? Anyway, does anyone else but me think that there is a possibility that google analyzes the 'analytics' data, and uses it as a factor for determining the serp position? If a site doesn't use analytics, maybe coordinating data from their toolbar?

If you mean it's the same person/ip that's keeps doing it, they could have saved it as part of a session and keep automatically going back to it whenever they log-on.

in my opinion, google is using bounce rate for serp.

if your bounce rate is too high , you may loose your serp on that keyword.

if your bounce rate is high, removing the analitics code must be an option for you

Rightfully they shouldn't be looking at or using your stats. What your site does is really personally information. Are we allowed to look at Google's stats. It's like looking at someones PM's or going through someones personal letters.

No when it comes to bounce rate through Analytics I guess you are looking at the part that says "(direct) / (none)" If that is the case then I believe visitors get listed that that are direct typein's bookmarks, plus all the traffic that doesn't fit in any of the other sections because they were not able to get enough information about the visitor like where they come from (the referrer).
