I bought a pack of script from someone on here (with resale rights apparently)-Im sure it's fine however... When I downloaded them, I found that a lot were free scripts and some were GPL license scripts? I did know that you could sell free scripts like this? Also, would I /should I have been given some docs to prove that I have resale rights? Just want to be sure, can anyone advise at all? Thanks
If you don't have anything saying you can resell copies, then you can't. I guess you could, but if you do something wrong, you have nothing to fall back on. So, this situation stops right here pretty much.
Open source is not anti-capitalist. GPL allows the work to be sold for money. The only stipulation is that the source code must be provided and any modifications/additions to the program must also be released under the GPL. People have long been assembling collections of free scripts/software and selling them. And, open source and free software/scripts nearly always allow for redistribution as long as certain conditions are met. However, you would need to read the licenses contained with each script to be certain.
hello, the seller was I. It is the package of 83 resellable scripts that is very very abundant on these forums.
