warrenty thats true. im glad i had mine when my sony went to crap 4 weeks after buying it. when i got it back it was a completely new pc. i hate sony vaio's the mother board-hard drive-and processor all died at the same time 2 times. so i finnaly built this sucker, the only thing left is the case and even thats all moded out.

i have a 7 year old pentium 3 700 mhrtz hp and it has never died once i have not replaced a thing in it in 7 years. i still use it.

I bought the parts and got my friend to put it together.

I hate building pc's especially mounting the board and installing windows.

I know its easy but I rather be doing something else.

See that is why i do not think I will custom build a computer becasue if it does crap out on you there is nothing you can do and the cost somes out of your pocket.

If you have a reputable supplier like I do, you will have no problems claiming the parts on warranty.

I once saw an old retired guy return a celeron processor because he had chipped it with a screwdriver while trying to put it in the motherboard. The store took it back under warranty and gave him a replacement.

But I have been burnt when I bought a hard drive from a swap meet (computer market) it failed after 3 months and was out of the warrantly period (1 month). The only thing I buy from these places now are just dvd discs.

yes, and the parts are more than likily under a 1 year warrenty if you buy them new.

i think i have 500 into my pc in custom parts.
if i were to order a pc with the same specs from a manufacturer it would cost near $2k.....
