I bought an ad for my clickbank product that I thought was going to be PERFECT.

The page the ad is displayed on a page that is #1 in google for a VERY popular keyword. It's a PR5 page. Even though the page is #1 in SERP, it is under construction so the page only has a few links, along with a "check back soon" message. My ad is on the bottom of the homepage-- but you don't even need to scroll to see it.

I paid quite a bit for the ad, but I was confident it would convert.

The ad is a simple picture of my logo with the title of my product below. Both the title and the logo link to my homepage. And the title of the product is self-explanitory.

So how many people clicked on my new, expensive little ad this week? Ten. That's it.

I have ads on much, much smaller pages that send 50-100 visitors per day to my page.

So where do you think I went wrong? I can't figure out for the life of me why the ad isn't getting clicks.

And what to do now-- I paid for the ad in full... the ad will run for 3 months. I suspect maybe a smaller text ad near the top might convert better than my graphic one near the bottom, but I don't know for sure. I thought my graphic ad was decent. *shrug* Maybe I should ask the webmaster if he's willing to make a change in the ad?

    Any thoughts or opinions welcome.

The major factor of how many visitors is his site getting is not known to us. There are pages that rank #1 for keywords but they just do not get enough visitors.

As it looks like that you have been using ads earlier also, I would say that there might not be anything wrong with your ad.

Please show us your advert or the URL where it is place.

Being ranked highly in google for a keyword that has many results pages doesn't mean the site you advertised on will get loads of traffic, nor does it mean that lots of people will click your advert.
