As you can see, our site's comment pages (for older articles) are being spammed up by bots. We recently implemented a captcha security image, but it seems that it is not working. Are you sure you install the captcha correctly? Did you experience a decrease in spamming. As mentioned so spammers can decode your captcha but not all, so you should have atleast decreased the amount of spam. You can also get human spammers that won't be held out by a captcha. You might want to try IP banning or try asking a simple question like 1+2=? only a few hundred variations. I think there is something open source in php that does this.
