Ok botnets have got a lot of bad rep. And rightly so, but can they be used for less sinister reason? I hear that for $100 you can get your malware onto 1000 computers. So my question is this - Would it be possible to hire these networks to increase youtube views? this is for sure 1 way that will beat any algo they have in place. and my second question is ethics and legalities, i have not ethical problem with it, the computers are already infected and have been subjected to systematic abuse prior. and what are the possible legal implications should my name appear on their credit card bill. Am i just buying a service? your thoughts please
I do share your points of view. But, remember. The computers are infected by malware (in most cases). Even if you use for youtube views, someone still infected that computer illegaly, and is using it illegally (bandwidth etc). So its not an ethical question, its wethever its illegal or not, because it will be illegal to buy such thing. Which is why you would pay cash or use offshore banking for it. Also remember that some botnets are just alot of private owned computers, where the owner owns them all. Then youtube views etc is legal to buy. The hard thing is to find contacts for such thing. You would mostly have to know them IRL i guess.
im with you on the legalities, but lets just say for the sake of the argument that i was unaware how the views were being obtained, it would be just like going to one of the 500 sites offering youtube plays, infact it would not surprise me if some of the top earners are already doing this, the problem is finding the ones that are value from the ones that are a load of sh*t
