I have a site which is making a decent amount but im bored with it and im not sure what to do.. I need the money so getting rid of it is not something i can do :\ What do you recommend i do?
You could always sell the site for 12x month revenue (or more for that matter). Then you wouldn't need the money anymore that you rely on from the site and could yield a nice profit! Good luck!
You can have someone run the site for you and share the revenue. That will be the easiest way to do it.
If it was me (which it obviously isn't), I'd sell it, get a nice amoutn of money and build something I do like. Happiness is more important than money
that is the better option. selling a site at 12X monthly earnings doesn't seem like a good idea to me. if you pay 25% of your earnings to someone, after 15 months, you will have both the money and the site....
But if your bored of it, than I don't see the harm in doing it. Might as well get out of the niche and pass it on to someone who wants it.
websites are one of the most undervalued assets.. which other asset can return your initial investment in 12 months? think about it....how much time does it take for money to double in a bank deposit? (In India, it takes 9 years to double money in a fixed deposit). if one can buy a good website at 12X monthly earnings, and maintain the level of traffic, the site will breakeven in 1 year and everything after that is profit. unless the webmaster requires urgent cash, he shouldn't be selling his websites. I have a few websites that I haven't updated for many months now. These keep getting traffic and I keep getting the money. If I sell them, I will get a one-time payment and after that, someone else will get the monthly earnings...
Why would you get bored? Is it because of the dynamic sites that need to update daily? If that is the case then, hire a webmaster and pay him to update and you do the profit sharing business
Push the domain & the content to me for free. I'll gladly take care of this problem & stress from you.
Give it to me. Make xx,xxxx a month with it. Sell it on sitepoint for 5 - 10 months worth of revenue.
Have you ever been broke? I agree happiness is more important than money, but if you can't eat, you won't be very happy... I agree; sounds like the best solution...
Well you can either incorporate something that you are more interested in the site, or you can sell it and use the money to start up a new site that you are completely interested in.
