Hi, When you enter the BUY -> SERVICES subforum, the first 5 topics are requests for DIGGs. This has nothing to do with selling services Isn't it a way for all that threads (which might be useful for some people, but I'm not interrested...) to be created in a dedicated sub-forum ??? Or somewhere that they are related to... cause it has nothing to do with BUY -> SERVICES
It's not just Buy > Services it's Buy Sell and Trade. Digg requests are a form of trade basically. I agree though they do make that section look a bit funny and there's enough of them to go somewhere else. But a Digg begging subforum wouldn't look to good either IMO. I'd say let nature run its course and stop begging. If the article is truly interesting it will get Dugg to the top anyway.
Not always, one thing I know is that a lame story won't make it to the top. But a good story can get overlooked. It's not a way to get you up there and keep you up there, just a little kick start to get you noticed. What gets you to the top is the quality of your post, nothing else.
my point was not if DIGGs are efficient or not... my point was if that DIGG requests are appropriate to that sub-forum... blogmaster, would you like me to create threads like "Real Madrid sucks" or "Russian govern should stop mafia" ??? You wouldn't have to click the threads...
There are quite a few threads in here that I don't like. But I've gotten used to skipping them. Actually, you're right, there are too many Digg threads. I myself am posting in 1 or 2 of them. Not sure why people are creating more and more of those, but it's an overall issue with lots of topics that members don't look at what's already there instead of starting a thread on their own.
I am pretty sure that if you look up all those Digg link that only about 1% of those made it to the front page. Making the efficiency poor as well as those requests rather worthless and indeed polluting the BST section. But that's just a guess. Adolix, what would you suggest doing with them?
I know it would make more work for the mods (sorry) but I think all digg threads should be merged into one big thread. The thread will still help people get dugg because it will get regular new posts and stay at the top of the forum. Much better than having a seperate forum and easier for people with 5 minutes to spare to go to the next unread post and start digging.
Yes, I beleive one thread will be enough... and the title should be BOLD, and maybe also sticky, for the people who have digg requests in mind to see them and to post there, and not on a new thread...
http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=38577 Looks like the 'official' dig thread, if there is one.
I think it’s probably best if people start pming each other to say they have digged each others. I say this in order that digitalpoint.com and its members do not get a reputation as being a place to come and abuse the digg system. Secondly, most of the replies are short and repetitive, eg “I digged itâ€, “dugg, dugg, duggâ€, “if I digg yours will you digg mine?†Isn’t this just as bad as the buy/sell forum where people post “pm me the stats/url/â€. Specifically adding no value to the forum and keep bumping up the same thread. Finally, I would just like to say I have no problem with people posting threads asking for diggs, but at least tell us a little bit about the article so we get an idea of what its before having to visit the site.
I hear travel, hotel, motel type ad's are some of the lowest paying ad's/leads in the in entire industry. But I know nothing, so I'm probably wrong =\
