    Hi there,

I'm having problems trying to view a border on a flash movie in different browsers except IE, would anyone know the reason for this?
**The flash movie is on the top, right hand corner called "Alternative Life"**
    Here is the link

    Many thanks in advance
    CHEERS :)

Damn, I'd like to know this too-- I have tried setting a border on my Flash but it just refuses. What's happening is that the actual Flash is covering the top part of your border up-- my Flash is covering my right and bottom sides. I also have tried adding a crapload of padding and nothing comes of it.

I did see a lot of javascript solutions to either setting a funky border OR removing a grey one that appears in IE sometimes-- but nothing about this.

Yeah, I have an idea, rip out the goofy animated bullshit.

Sorry, increasingly a pet peeve. Flash for presentational elements on a webpage is almost as stupid as designing in dreamweaver.

True so its harder then it looks.

Lol yea of course that would solve everything D. I guess I will have to convince my clients in the future not to go with flash animation hehe lol which will save a lot of erors I guess. These Flash errors are becoming annoying, now I understand why you guys don't like flash that much lol.

There is a reason it's called flash and not substance.

Even so, my company spent the European Assrape amount to buy Flash because they wanted Flash banners-- Flash is perfect for little banners-- and if I'm using the Satay method, I should be able to style that <object> just like any other element... okay, I have kinda given up on forms, but objects should obey my will. But so far I can only give the thing margins, not padding... I set the sucker to display: block just to be extra sure... and, nothing. Except in IE, which makes me think, I must be doing something wrong if IE gets it right...

    Hey Stomme,
Yea I can't figure it out either, I wonder if you can use a <div> to style it?

I think you could wrap some wasteful div around it and set the border to the Flash, yeah... but Flash has this thing where it's not really sitting IN the page, so it could still stick out and overlap the div's borders. I don't know if the paddings on the div could force the Flash object in the right place. But anyway, it could be tried. I might try that.
